Frequently Asked Questions

Is Aran Shield per phone number or per device?
Per SIM / phone number. If you have two SIMs, each one needs its own Shield subscription. A subscription is tied to the number, not the handset — if you change your phone, your Shield moves with your SIM.
Can callers tell they're being screened?
Yes — Aran's Guardian Agent introduces itself at the start of the conversation. This is by design: transparency builds trust and deters fraud callers without needing to deceive anyone.
What happens to my contacts? Are they uploaded?
Never in plain text. Aran converts phone numbers to one-way cryptographic fingerprints (SHA-256) before any server communication. Your contacts' names are never sent anywhere. This is backed by Patent 1 — Zero-Knowledge Contact Synchronisation.
How long are AI screening transcripts kept?
90 days maximum. This is a hard cap built into our privacy policy and will never be increased. You can delete individual transcripts or your entire account at any time.
What does "TEE hardware attestation" mean in practice?
Your phone's Trusted Execution Environment (a secure chip area isolated from the main OS) generates cryptographic keys that cannot be exported or copied. Aran uses these keys to detect SIM swap attacks — if someone moves your SIM to another device, Aran detects the hardware mismatch instantly and can wipe your protected data in under 500ms.
Does Aran work without internet?
The AI Guardian screening requires an internet connection since the call is intercepted at the network level. Basic caller ID lookup from the community database works offline using the last cached data.
Is Aran available on iOS?
Not yet. Aran is currently Android-only (in beta). The deep call-screening integration we rely on is not available on iOS at the system level.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Email support@vaayil.com. Subscriptions can be cancelled any time. During the beta period, all access is free and there is nothing to cancel.
